‘I am immensely proud and honoured to have been asked to be the next President of the HHSEG and I look forward to working with the Group’s members to build on the achievements of my predecessors. There are a variety of reasons why the near future could be challenging for many local businesses, and my focus will be on supporting Group members in promoting the benefits of its membership to those organisations.

I feel strongly that those who hold responsibility for or advise on health, safety and the environment in their businesses must feel empowered and confident to make key decisions and to promote the benefits of effective risk management and employee wellbeing. It is particularly important that those new to the field – or taking on new challenges -appreciate fully that there is not only a diverse programme of CPD events, but also a safe forum for discussion and debate within a welcoming, knowledgeable and pragmatic group of fellow professionals.

I look forward to leading the Group and to providing guidance and support to both current and future members.’
