Welcome to the Hampshire Health Safety and Environmental Group web site.

Our mission is to become the recognised focal point for high quality, low cost mutual assistance, education and training in health, safety and environmental protection for local businesses.

HHSEG Awards 2024

The HHSEG Awards 2024 will be presented at the HHSEG Conference at the Solent Hotel and Spa on 09 October 2024. Further and better particulars and Entry Forms are contained in the links below:

THE SOLENT SAFETY AWARD_2024 is awarded to entries from member companies or individual group members, who demonstrate commitment to the principles of health and safety at work;

THE JACK BENNETT TROPHY_2024 is for entries from Secondary Schools, 6th Form Colleges and Colleges of Further Education, Apprentice Training Schemes and Youth Organisations with members aged 10 and over; and

THE GRANT MCMILLAN TROPHY_2024 is for entries from Infant, Junior, and Primary Schools and Youth Organisations with members in the 7 to 11 year age group.

‘I am immensely proud and honoured to have been asked to be the next President of the HHSEG and I look forward to working with the Group’s members to build on the achievements of my predecessors. There are a variety of reasons why the near future could be challenging for many local businesses, and my focus will be on supporting Group members in promoting the benefits of its membership to those organisations.

I feel strongly that those who hold responsibility for or advise on health, safety and the environment in their businesses must feel empowered and confident to make key decisions and to promote the benefits of effective risk management and employee wellbeing. It is particularly important that those new to the field – or taking on new challenges -appreciate fully that there is not only a diverse programme of CPD events, but also a safe forum for discussion and debate within a welcoming, knowledgeable and pragmatic group of fellow professionals.

I look forward to leading the Group and to providing guidance and support to both current and future members.’
